This popular Valse Triste, Op 44/3 is from the incidental music to the play 'Death", where the dying mother is dreaming that she has returned to her youth, and is attending a ball. After intensive dancing the music fades - and death raps three times at the door ... Standard MIDI format doesn't react to tempo changes. aValse Triste have some so I have here a rough "tempo map": Measures 1 - 69 105 beats/min 70 - 93 130 94 - 109 105 110 - 117 130 118 - 164 150 165 - 176 130 177 - 105 A better and more precise way would be listenig some recording over this piece and so adjusting the tempo. Valse Triste was arranged for a small violin orchestra so strings would be suitable instruments. All kinds of pianosounds seem also to fit. AM/FM
